The short answer: choose the style first (brief, trunk, boxer brief or boxer), then check the brand’s own size chart against your waist in centimetres. Sizes aren’t universal — a Calvin Klein Small and a Bonds Small cover different waist measurements.

Bonds undershirts (chesties and raglans) use a numbered size too — a 16 is a Medium, 18 a Large — which is why listings show both, like “16 / Medium”.
Bonds vs Calvin Klein: sizes don’t match
Put the two charts side by side and the same letter means different things. A Calvin Klein Small is a 71–76 cm waist; a Bonds Small is 75–80 cm. A Calvin Klein Medium is 81–86 cm; a Bonds Medium is 85–90 cm. So measure your waist and check each brand’s chart — don’t assume your size carries over.
Both charts leave small gaps between sizes. If your measurement falls in one, check the size chart on the product listing — Amazon listings don’t always say which country’s sizing they use.
How to measure your waist
Use a soft tape measure around your natural waist, level all the way round, over bare skin. Keep it snug but not tight, and breathe normally.

Do Calvin Klein and Bonds sizes run the same?
No. By each brand’s own chart, a Calvin Klein Medium is an 81–86 cm waist and a Bonds Medium is 85–90 cm.
What’s the difference between trunks and boxer briefs?
Both are close-fitting with a short leg. Calvin Klein describes a trunk as having the fit of a boxer brief with the support of a brief; a boxer brief has a longer leg.
